Care of ENJOtex Fibres
How frequently and at which temperature should ENJOtex Fibres be washed?
If you’re looking for the best results (which we’re sure you are), we suggest machine washing your Fibres in a laundry bag after completing a deep clean in any area of your home.
To be specific, we recommend machine washing your Fibres in an ENJO Laundry Bag at 40–60°C using an environmentally friendly detergent. Always hang them to air dry, and avoid fabric softeners, as these can coat the fibres and reduce their effectiveness.
Please also note: ENJOtex Fibres perform best when they’re not tumble dried.
Can ENJOtex Fibres be hand-washed?
Totally. After light cleaning tasks, such as wiping down kitchen benches or quickly freshening up the bathroom vanity, simply rinse your Fibre under hot water. You can add a small amount of hand soap if needed, then hang it to dry.
For heavier jobs, like cleaning an oven or BBQ, we recommend soaking the Fibre in a bucket of hot water with a scoop of Lectric Soda before placing it in the washing machine. This helps loosen built-up grime and keeps your Fibres performing at their best.
Can ENJOtex Fibres be used with essential oils, vinegar, dryer sheets, or fabric softener?
We know these home remedies are often recommended in other cleaning contexts, but it’s a hard no from us. ENJOtex Fibres are designed to work brilliantly with just cold water. No extra products are needed.
To keep your Fibres performing at their best, avoid coating them with essential oils, fabric softeners, or dryer sheets, and don’t soak them in vinegar or bleach. These substances can coat or damage the fibres and reduce their cleaning power.
For more tips on caring for your products, visit our How to Care page.
My ENJOtex Fibres smell. What should I do?
Oh no! No one likes a smelly Fibre. What we can tell you is that when cared for correctly, ENJOtex Fibres shouldn’t develop an odour. That’s why it’s vital to rinse them under hot water after spot cleaning and machine wash them at 40–60°C with detergent after each deep clean.
But what if your Fibres start smelling anyway? In that case, don’t worry. Simply soak them for a few hours in a bucket or sink of hot water with Lectric Soda (available at most supermarkets), then run them through a long 40–60°C wash cycle with detergent. This will refresh your Fibres and have them working like the day you pulled them out of the box.
Can I put my ENJO products in the dryer?
We would certainly advise against it! Instead, we’d suggest hanging your Fibres out to air dry. This helps to protect them and keeps them performing at their best for much longer.
Can I machine wash ENJO products?
You most certainly can. All ENJO Fibres can be machine-washed at 40–60°C in an ENJO Laundry Bag using detergent. This helps protect the fibres and keeps them working effectively.
To maintain performance and longevity, please avoid fabric softener and bleach, and don’t tumble dry your Fibres.
Following these simple steps will help your ENJO products last for years to come.
Do I have to wash ENJO products before first use?
Yes, we recommend that you machine wash your ENJO Fibres before using them for the first time.
Just place them in the ENJO Laundry Bag they came with and machine wash at 40–60°C using a mild detergent without bleach. Avoid fabric softener, then hang them to air dry. Please don’t use a dryer!
After that, they’re ready to go.
General Product Info
Do ENJOtex Fibres kill bacteria, viruses, or mould spores?
No. ENJOtex Fibres don’t ‘kill’ bacteria, viruses, or mould spores. Instead, they remove them.
Using the capillary action created by ENJOtex Fibres, surface bacteria, viruses, and mould spores are physically trapped and then lifted from surfaces. These particles are then released and/or killed during machine washing at 40–60°C with detergent.
For more information, check out our guide on cleaning, sanitising, and disinfecting with ENJO.
Why is there only one Laundry Bag per order?
We use Laundry Bags as packaging to provide an alternative usable option that reduces the amount of unnecessary packing waste. Additional Laundry Bags are available to purchase under Accessories + Replacements.
My Floorcleaner is stuck in a half-open or half-closed position. Can this be fixed?
Absolutely. In most cases, this can be easily fixed at home.
- Lift the Floorcleaner off the ground and check the base. One side will feel rigid, while the other will feel loose or “floppy.”
- Gently lift the floppy side and firmly click the open/close tab on that side.
- Both sides should drop into an inverted V position.
- Place the Floorcleaner back on the floor and click the close tab to reset it.
- If the head feels stiff or dirty, soak it in warm, soapy water for 30 minutes to remove built-up dust and grime.
- Dry thoroughly before using again.
If the issues persist, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team for help!
How do you maintain the Floorcleaner?
To keep your Floorcleaner Head moving smoothly, we recommend giving it a thorough rinse two to three times a year under a strong jet of water, such as from a garden hose.
This helps remove built-up dust and debris that can affect movement. Please avoid using a pressure washer, as this may damage the mechanism.

Yes, almost all ENJO products are vegan, with the exception of our Leather & Wood Balm, which contains beeswax.
Does ENJO actually clean?
You bet it does! Believe it or not, ENJO products actually clean up to 6x more effectively than conventional cleaning products by lifting and trapping dirt and bacteria within the ENJOtex Fibre weave. This gives you a good and thorough clean using just water and nothing else.
How long does ENJO last?
With proper care, ENJO products can last up to three years, or around 200 washes.
Not only does this cause less waste and fewer trips to the supermarket for replacements, it can actually save you up to $3,000 in the long run!
Is ENJO Worth It?
In a word, yes.
We recognise that purchasing an ENJO product is initially more expensive than a disposable equivalent, but the lifetime value of your ENJO products actually saves you quite a lot of cash.
Remember that these products last up to 3 years (approximately 200 washes) and can save you over $3,000!
But it’s not just better value for money, it’s better for your health and saves you time as well. You can learn more about what makes ENJO products so effective by heading over to The Science of ENJO page.
Why is ENJO so expensive?
It might look that way at first glance, but ENJO is designed to be an investment, not a throwaway purchase.
Our cleaning products are carefully handcrafted in Austria using high-quality, sustainable materials, then shipped to Australia using environmentally responsible methods. They’re made to last, not to be replaced.
The harsh truth is that the sustainable method is rarely the cheapest. If it was, everyone would already be doing it! The reason you can believe in using ENJO for your home is the same reason our products aren’t cheap – we never compromise on quality or sustainability.
Where is ENJO made?
All ENJO products are handmade in Austria and produced to the highest environmental and quality standards.
Recycling
How do I recycle my old Fibres?
We make it easy to recycle your used ENJO Fibres and hardware.
Simply return them to ENJO Australia HQ using our reply-paid address (this means we cover the cost!).
To get started, visit our Recycling page and complete the online form, which includes full instructions on how to send your items back.
How are ENJO products recycled?
Returned ENJO Fibres and hardware are sent to our recycling partner, UPPAREL Australia, where they’re carefully sorted and processed.
Old Fibres are broken down and transformed into new materials that can be reused in products such as signage, panels, and packaging. This helps keep valuable resources out of landfills and gives them a second life.
By returning your ENJO products, you’re helping close the loop and support a more responsible, circular system.
Do you have environmental certifications?
Yes we do. We’re proud to hold a range of environmental and social responsibility certifications. You can learn more about these certifications on our Social Responsibility page.
Polyester is made from petroleum. Why do you use it?
Fair question! The answer is that, while polyester is derived from petroleum, we use it responsibly as part of a circular approach to manufacturing.
Much of the polyester used in ENJO products comes from by-products of the petroleum industry that would otherwise end up as waste. Through environmentally responsible manufacturing processes, this material is transformed into high-performance cleaning Fibres.
At the end of their life, ENJO Fibres are collected and recycled, helping keep them out of landfill and supporting a more sustainable system.
