Top 5 questions we’ve been asked in the last 30 days

Cleaning is a hot topic right now and this is what everyone wants to know about cleaning with ENJO

For the first time in a long time, people are thinking about how they clean their homes.

How do we know? ENJO users and people thinking about making the switch to chemical-free cleaning have been in touch.

We understand the importance of cleanliness and hygiene right now and we want to make sure everyone knows the answers to our top 5 most-asked questions.

1. Is it safe to clean without chemicals during the pandemic?

Yes, but there are things you need to know.

Cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting are three different things.

Cleaning without chemicals is completely safe and effective, however, right now officials recommend sanitising and disinfecting high-contact surfaces too.

What many people don’t realise is that to sanitise and disinfect your home successfully, cleaning is a critical first step in that process.

Chemicals used to sanitise and disinfect (like bleach) won’t work unless the surface is clean first. It actually becomes inactivated, which could mean you’re introducing your home to harsh chemicals and they aren’t even working.

ENJO fibres don’t use chemicals, so they don’t kill anything.

However, the fibres do effectively lift and remove organic material from surfaces leaving the surface completely clean and dry.

Cleaning without chemicals means that if you are sanitising or disinfecting, there’s no need to worry about mixing chemicals which can be dangerous.

When using chemicals at home, always remember to follow the label instructions and keep your home well-ventilated.

2. Do I need to replace my ENJO products?

This depends on how long you’ve been using them.

We pride ourselves on being able to supply long-lasting, reusable cleaning supplies. It reduces so much waste and chemical wastewater.

We also pride ourselves on the effectiveness of our products, and like anything, we suspected that overtime general wear may reduce the effectiveness of our products.

To find out, ENJO International conducted a study using ATP bioluminescence testing to see how effective ENJO fibres are over time.

They found that between 200 washes (around 3 years’ worth of use) and 266 washes (4 years of use, the cleaning performance dropped from 82% to 44%.

So if you’ve been using your fibres regularly for 3 years it’s time to replace them.

Not sure if you need to replace your ENJO cleaning products? Here are 3 simple ways you can find out.

3. How does cleaning with ENJO work?

It’s mechanical, not chemical.

Cleaning with ENJO is so quick and simple because of the time, effort and rigorous testing that has been put into the fibres themselves.

Unlike disposable cleaning cloths and chemicals, everything about the ENJO fibre is designed to physically remove dirt from surfaces.

For example, each ENJO Fibre is 100-times finer than a single human hair, has a unique wedge-shape and is expertly woven.

The wedge-shape helps loosen dirt that’s stuck to the surface. The superfine fibre can reach into crevices and by adding water create a capillary action, so dirt and grime lift from the surface. The weave then traps the dirt.

In addition to creating the capillary action, the water acts as a natural solvent to soften dirt and grime.

4. What is the difference between ENJO and other fibres?

ENJO has developed its own fibre technology called ENJOtex.

Situated in the middle of what's known as the Silicon Valley of textile technology, ENJO HQ has access to textile technology as it's being developed.

Over 30 years ENJO International have conducted testing, invested in technology and experimented with new fibres and materials to ensure that each fibre in the range is optimal at cleaning the surfaces and dirt commonly found in that area of the home.

All ENJO cleaning products are handmade, the emissions generated to create ENJO products is offset by reforestation and old fibres can be upcycled into home insulation.

ENJO endeavour to be the green solution when it comes to cleaning. You can learn more about ENJO and our fibres here.
